Orientation Services
Mandatory In-Person Program Orientation is required of all new freshmen and all new transfer students. All readmitted students at Midlands Technical College must complete Online New Student Orientation and schedule an individual advising appointment. Online New Student Orientation is completed online in D2L and must be completed before the individual academic advising appointment. F-1 visa students have a separate mandatory orientation to review and understand immigration and college policies that may impact their visa status.
Mandatory In-Person Program Orientation helps students answer the following five questions:
- Am I in the right MTC program for me and my career plans?
- How will I cover the cost of college, especially if I need financial aid?
- What does MTC expect from me?
- When do I need to make important decisions?
- When can I meet with an advisor and register for my courses?
Mandatory In-Person Program Orientation includes semester advisement and course registration. New first-time freshmen, new first-time transfers, and readmitted college students have a registration hold until they have completed their orientation requirement with Academic and Career Advising. Several academic programs have additional mandatory information sessions before the enrollment process can be completed.
Readmitted students will complete online New Student Orientation. To locate our online New Student Orientation, navigate to D2L and select “New Student Orientation” from your course list. As soon as you complete all assessments and click “submit” after the orientation, you can schedule your advising appointment.
