MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for employment in Hawaii. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Hawaii does not require registration, certification, or licensure for surgical technologists. Employers and healthcare facilities may have additional requirements for employment.

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for registration in Washington. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Washington requires all surgical technologists to register with the Department of Health in order to practice surgical technology in this State’s healthcare facilities. Surgical Technologists must complete seven (7) hours of AIDS education in order to register. Surgical technologists are not required to be certified in order to register; however, individual employers may require certification as a condition of employment.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Virginia has several options for meeting surgical technologist registration requirements. Including in these is the registration of a person who has successfully completed a surgical technologist training program through an institution or program accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation organization and holds a current credential as a surgical technologist from an entity approved by the Board.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Tennessee requires individuals either to have and maintain current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or to have completed a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
