State constables are commissioned by SLED and support SC law enforcement. Prior to registering for this class, candidates must submit an application for the Constable program to SLED and receive approval to take this training. Students must pass a comprehensive test and qualify with firearms. Yearly in-service training updates are required. The curriculum includes: firearms, laws of arrest, searches and seizures, evidence, crisis intervention, human/community relations, SLED policies and procedures affecting constables. The Criminal Justice Academy does not control any part of the constable program or tuition, but only provides the training manuals. Offsite weekend sessions will be scheduled for firearms training. The instructor will provide details during the first day of class.

The course meets the annual refresher training requirements for OSHA Class I asbestos workers and SC-DHEC Asbestos Worker licensees. Students receive certificates for licensing purposes.Student musthave completed the initial training class and bring their certificate of completion as proof when they attend this class.

Paramedics are pre-hospital healthcare providers that care for the sick and injured in a variety of emergency settings. This course is designed to meet the NREMT and SC (DHEC) requirements for initial paramedic training, and covers the curriculum and training necessary to sit for the national registry examination.

This course will introduce you to plumbing as a career, provide plumbing-specific safety training, and familiarize you with the tools of the plumbing trade. The course will wrap up with plumbing-specific customer service training.

Also for SC-DHEC licensing for persons performing air monitoring on asbestos projects and for the OSHA Competent Person training for all asbestos work in accordance with 1926.1101. Annual refresher required.
