Midlands Technical College’s Practical Nursing program meets the educational requirements to apply for Practical Nursing licensure in New York with the successful completion of the New York State required infection control course work as prescribed by the New York State Education Department. The Practical Nursing Program at Midlands Technical College is approved by the state of South Carolina Board of Nursing and accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam.

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for employment in New York. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). New York requires individuals to have graduated from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited surgical technology program and hold and maintain a surgical technologist certification administered by a nationally accredited credentialing organization.

MTC’s Cardiac Care Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for EKG technicians in New York. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Phlebotomy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for phlebotomy technicians in New York. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Nursing Assistant (CNA) program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for Nurse Aides/CNAs in New York. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

The Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at MTC meets the educational requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on the Education in Radiologic Technology. The graduates are certified by the ARRT and the state of SC by the SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association). This meets the educational requirements of the state of New York.

MTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for registered nursing in New York. Applicants must earn a passing score on the NCLEX- RN. Additionally, a state approved infection control course and child abuse identification course must be completed or an exemption granted. New York is a member of NLC. MTC ADN graduates who meet primary residence and NLC uniform licensure requirements may apply for licensure by exam. MTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

MTC’s Advanced Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology program meets the educational requirements for initial certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in New York. Certification exam required: Yes. Reciprocity with South Carolina: No.
