MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for certification in Connecticut. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Effective October 1, 2023, the State of Connecticut requires individuals to graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES- accredited surgical technologist program and hold certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body that certifies surgical technologists recognized by the Department of Public Health.
