Midlands Technical College’s Practical Nursing program meets the educational requirements to apply for Practical Nursing licensure in Colorado. The Practical Nursing Program at Midlands Technical College is approved by the state of South Carolina Board of Nursing and accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam.

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for employment in Colorado. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). The State of Colorado requires all surgical technologists to register with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) in order to practice surgical technology in this state’s healthcare facilities. Colorado does not license or certify surgical technologists. Individual employers may have additional requirements for employment.

MTC’s Cardiac Care Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for EKG technicians in Colorado. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Phlebotomy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for phlebotomy technicians in Colorado. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Nursing Assistant (CNA) program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for Nurse Aides/CNAs in Colorado. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

The Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at MTC meets the educational requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on the Education in Radiologic Technology. The graduates are certified by the ARRT and the state of SC by the SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association). This meets the educational requirements of the state of Colorado. Colorado does not license radiologic technologists at this time.

MTC's Associate Degree Nursing program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for registered nursing in Colorado. Applicants must earn a passing score on the NCLEX- RN. MTC's Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). 

Colorado is a member of the NLC. MTC ADN graduates who meet primary residence and NLC uniform licensure requirements may apply for licensure by exam in Colorado.

MTC’s Advanced Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology program meets the educational requirements for initial certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Colorado. Certification exam required: NO. License required: NO Reciprocity with South Carolina: No.

MTC's Expanded Duty Dental Assisting - Diploma in Applied Science meets the State educational and Accreditation requirements for certification.

The Colorado Bar Association doesn’t officially license Medical Assistants. However, to be competitive in the marketplace most Medical Assistants are certified as their employers typically require certification.
