MTC’s Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology program is NAACLS-accredited and therefore meets the educational requirements for national certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Applicants must earn a passing score on the MLT Board of Certification Exam through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) to obtain their national certification. Some states/territories, like Montana, require State Licensure in addition to the national Board of Certification exam through ASCP. MTC meets the educational requirements for this State Licensure, but additional paperwork, certification exams, fees, and/or work experience (clinical hours) may be required. Graduates should contact the Montana Board of Clinical Laboratory for the most up-to-date requirements for this State Licensure.
