Overview

This six-week program provides students with an overview of meeting and event planning based on various types of events to include conferences, corporate meetings, weddings, nonprofit events, etc.

Explore and understand the concepts of event planning and executing a successful event. Whether your interests lie in opening your own event company, planning a wedding, or simply mastering the skills to plan the perfect meeting for work, this program provides students the skill set to understand a variety of aspects planning to include contract negotiations, venue selection, establishing pricing for your services, marketing, and much more.

Coordinate activities of staff, convention personnel, or clients who plan, prepare and implement meetings and events for group meetings, events, or conventions. Provide staff coordination for a company who provides various events.

Earn the skills necessary to succeed in a position on a meeting and event staff at a local venue.

Continue your education

Pursue a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and then gain the experience needed to get the meeting and event planning certification. Must have a four-year degree and years of experience to obtain this certification.
