Midlands Technical College is excited to announce that all current MTC students, faculty, and staff can now ride The COMET transit bus for free! You can catch The COMET 24/7, on any route throughout the Midlands, with a current MTC ID card.
This new partnership was shared with college faculty and staff at a spring inservice event, where the news was received with positive remarks and an enthusiastic round of applause.
“We are so excited for this partnership with The COMET and what it will mean for our students and the community,” said Dr. Ronald L. Rhames, president of Midlands Technical College. “I encourage everyone involved, especially students, to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The COMET transit system has long range of services to offer the MTC community, including free WiFi, over 40 different routes, park-and-ride and limited-stop express services, and rural transit. Most importantly, the organization recently launched a new mobile app called Catch the COMET, where riders will be able to see the exact location and arrival time of any COMET bus and track it in real time.
