Midlands Technical College President: 2024 Palmetto Power

Dr. Gregory Little, president of Midlands Technical College, is named to the SC Biz News Palmetto Power 2024 list. The list honors "South Carolina’s most innovative and influential leaders across a variety of sectors."
In his article, Dr. Little highlights his work both in Lexington School District One and at the SC Technical College System office creating opportunities for dual enrollment and creating pathways to prosperity.
“My time in South Carolina has really been about working at the local, regional, and state level to advocate for people who often do not have opportunities and access,” shared Dr. Little. “The work has really been about opening doors and creating new pathways to prosperity.”
He goes on to share what he sees as South Carolina’s strengths and weaknesses.
“South Carolina is very aggressive in recruiting,” Dr. Little shares as a strength of the Palmetto State. “We’ve had a significant number of high-profile large-scale economic development projects that have been announced even in the last few years.” As for weaknesses, Dr. Little shared, “Diversifying the workplace. Our population is booming… that means we must be an attractive place to work and live. So, we have to maximize workforce participation.”
Other Midlands recipients include Dominion Energy SC President Kellar Kissam, Power:Ed Executive Director Claire Gibbons, Columbia Chamber CEO Carl Blackstone, and Bible Way Church of Atlas Road Chief Operating Officer Darrell Jackson Jr.
