Midlands Technical College Foundation Golf Classic Raises $135,000 for Military Families

The Midlands Technical College Foundation broke another record raising $135,000 at its fourth annual MTC Golf Classic held at Cobblestone Park Golf Club on Monday, October 14, 2024. In 2023, the tournament raised $100,000, $75,000 in 2022, and $50,000 in 2021. The Golf Classic raises scholarship money for veterans, current service members, and their families to access training through MTC’s QuickJobs program.
Hood Construction returned as the presenting sponsor while Blanchard Machinery joined as the premiere sponsor. AVANTech, along with 36 other sponsors provided substantial support.
“Every year, our community partners come together for a day filled with friendly competition that provides scholarships for to those who answer the call and their families,” said Associate Vice President for Philanthropy and MTC Foundation CEO Nancy McKinney. “Thank you to our community partners, board of trustees members, and staunch supporters for helping advance the work MTC is doing in the Midlands.”
MTC’s QuickJobs program gives students the training they need to succeed in high-demand jobs over the next decade. Most programs can be completed in a few months and some, in a couple of weeks.
