Alabama is a member of the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC). MTC ADN graduates who meet primary residence and NLC uniform licensure requirements may apply for licensure by exam in Alabama. 

MTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

MTC’s Associate in Applied Science Degree for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for PTA in Alabama. Applicants must earn a passing score on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTAs administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (fsbpt). Additionally, individual states may require a jurisprudence exam be passed prior to being licensed in that state. A jurisprudence exam is a test of the state’s specific laws and rules. All licensed physical therapist assistants (PTAs) should be familiar with the state practice act and rules under which they intend and are allowed to work. 

Upon graduation, an official transcript from MTC showing the AAS.PTH3 (Physical Therapist Assistant) degree as conferred must be sent to the individual state licensure board in which a license is being applied for.

The Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at MTC meets the educational requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on the Education in Radiologic Technology. The graduates are certified by the ARRT and the state of SC by the SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association). This meets the educational requirements of Alabama. Alabama does not license radiologic technologists at this time.

Applicants must hold credentials as a registered respiratory therapist (RRT) or a certified respiratory therapist (CRT), as granted by the NBRC or its successor organization. MTC’s Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (AARC).

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for employment in Alabama. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Alabama does not require certification for Surgical Technologists.

MTC’s Pharmacy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for pharmacy technicians in Alabama. Board-approved training program within the first six months after their registration and submit evidence of completion to the board within 10 days of completion. The passage of a Board recognized pharmacy technician certification examination shall be accepted as a training program. MTC uses PTCB which is accepted by Alabama.

The Alabama State Medical Board does not determine the scope of medical assistants. As in most states, nurse practitioners and licensed doctors obtain the authority to assign responsibility relating to health-care.

Alaska does not currently require respiratory therapists to be licensed. Instead, applicants have to provide proof of completion of a respiratory program at a college or university. According to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), licensure is under review.

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for employment in Alaska. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Alaska does not require certification for Surgical Technologists.

Upon graduation, an official transcript from MTC showing the AAS.PTH3 (Physical Therapist Assistant) degree as conferred must be sent to the individual state licensure board in which a license is being applied for. 

MTC’s Associate in Applied Science Degree for the Physical Therapist Assistant is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

The Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at MTC meets the educational requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on the Education in Radiologic Technology. The graduates are certified by the ARRT and the state of SC by the SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association). This meets the educational requirements of the state of North Dakota.

MTC’s Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for Respiratory Therapist in North Dakota. An official transcript from MTC showing the AAS.RTT3 degree as conferred must be sent to National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) upon graduation. Applicants must hold credentials as a registered respiratory therapist (RRT) or a certified respiratory therapist (CRT), as granted by the NBRC or its successor organization. MTC’s Associate in Applied Science in Respiratory Care program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (AARC).

MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for certification in North Dakota. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). North Dakota requires surgical technologists to register with the “Unlicensed Assistive Person & Medication Assistant” registry. Surgical technologists do not need to be certified in order to register, but health care facilities may still require surgical technologist certification. The North Dakota Board of Nursing handles registration. Applicants must have graduated from a recognized formal training program or provide a current certification by a nationally recognized board.

MTC’s Pharmacy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for pharmacy technicians in North Dakota. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required andmust be obtained before registration for new technicians

or American Medical Technologists

In North Dakota, medical assistants must complete a board-approved medical assistant program and pass a medical assistant certification exam to administer medication. They must also register with the Board of Nursing as a Medication Assistant III to give certain types of medication.

MTC’s Advanced Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology program meets the educational requirements for initial certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in North Dakota. Certification exam required: Yes. Reciprocity with South Carolina: No.

MTC’s Nursing Assistant (CNA) program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for Nurse Aides/CNAs in North Dakota. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Phlebotomy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for phlebotomy technicians in North Dakota. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC's Expanded Duty Dental Assisting - Diploma in Applied Science meets the State educational and Accreditation requirements for certification.

Midlands Technical College’s Practical Nursing program meets the educational requirements to apply for Practical Nursing licensure in North Dakota. The Practical Nursing Program at Midlands Technical College is approved by the state of South Carolina Board of Nursing and accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam.
