MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for certification in Massachusetts. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Massachusetts requires surgical technologists to have successfully completed an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and to hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists.

MTC’s Cardiac Care Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for EKG technicians in Massachusetts. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Phlebotomy Technician program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for phlebotomy technicians in Massachusetts. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

MTC’s Nursing Assistant (CNA) program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for Nurse Aides/CNAs in Massachusetts. Technicians must hold the Certification, which can be obtained through MTC.

The Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at MTC meets the educational requirements of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on the Education in Radiologic Technology. The graduates are certified by the ARRT and the state of SC by the SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association). This meets the educational requirements of the state of Massachusetts.

MTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program meets the educational requirements for initial licensure for registered nursing in Massachusetts. Applicants must earn a passing score on the NCLEX- RN. Additionally, applicants must comply with the must comply with the “good moral character” (GMC) requirement specified at Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 112, sections 74, 74A and 76. Massachusetts has pending legislation for the NLC. MTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

MTC’s Advanced Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology program meets the educational requirements for initial certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Massachusetts. Certification exam required: Yes. Reciprocity with South Carolina: No.

In Massachusetts, a primary care provider (PCP) can allow a certified medical assistant to give immunizations if they meet two conditions. First, the medical assistant must have graduated from an accredited medical assisting education program, such as one approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Second, the medical assistant must be working in the clinical practice of a licensed primary care provider.
