MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for certification in Massachusetts. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Massachusetts requires surgical technologists to have successfully completed an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and to hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists.

In Massachusetts, a primary care provider (PCP) can allow a certified medical assistant to give immunizations if they meet two conditions. First, the medical assistant must have graduated from an accredited medical assisting education program, such as one approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Second, the medical assistant must be working in the clinical practice of a licensed primary care provider.
