Washington - Surgical Technology
MTC’s Surgical Technology program meets the educational requirements for registration in Washington. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARCST/SA). Washington requires all surgical technologists to register with the Department of Health in order to practice surgical technology in this State’s healthcare facilities. Surgical Technologists must complete seven (7) hours of AIDS education in order to register. Surgical technologists are not required to be certified in order to register; however, individual employers may require certification as a condition of employment.
