Dr. Mary Holloway Honored with S.C. Chamber of Commerce ATHENA Award

Dr. Mary Holloway was presented the ATHENA Award from the S.C. Chamber of Commerce during the chamber’s 2023 Women’s Leadership Symposium on March 8, 2023.

The ATHENA Award is presented to an individual that presents valuable service to the community, professional excellence, and actively assisting women reach their full professional and leadership potential. It highlights the recipient's accomplishments while helping pave a path for future successors.

Throughout her tenure with Midlands Technical College, Dr. Holloway has provided many opportunities for women to grow and hold leadership positions. Below are some of what her colleagues and support team had to say during the nomination process:

“Mary will often stay in touch with students across their career and help connect them to their next educational opportunity. She, often times, sees more in the women she encounters than the women see in themselves. She listens with her heart and mind and does her best to help women be personally and professionally successful.
