We strongly encourage our WIA participants to develop partnerships with caring and experienced professionals who can offer additional academic and employment guidance and support.
These volunteer mentors can:
- Be a great source of advice and information if you need a second opinion or a different point of view on a situation
- Help open doors by finding people, opportunities and information that you may not have on your own (for example, give information on job leads)
- Stand up for you when you need it, or speak on your behalf (be a reference for jobs or a promotion or entrance into college).
